Woods, parks and sports facilities

The village of Villamaggiore is to have a large area dedicated to greenery.
A tree-planting program has already been launched over an area of 80,000 sqm (of which 40,000 have already been planted) which will act both as a green barrier for the Logistic Center and as a relaxation area for the villagers. Already planted are the green barrier lying along the Via Cascina Nuova (known as the" Kilometro verde") and the tree-lined bank separating the village from the petrol station.

Another green barrier is proposed along the west side of Via Cascina Nuova (known as the Green Belt) as well as a green strip linking the village with the nearby oasis of Lacchiarella (known as the equipped ecological corridor). Another equipped green area near the railway station is also proposed.

As regards sports facilities, the following have already been laid:

• A 4km cycle path which connects the surrounding area both to the village center and to the railway station and continues on to Siziano;
• A football pitch built to A7 championship standard for both competitive and amateur training.
  Still to be constructed within the Villamaggiore area are a playground and a bowls pitch, close to the railway station.
